Cold open
INT. APOLLO CINEMA - PROJECTION BOOTH - NIGHT Max threads the last reel his callused fingers stained with decades of dust. Below the empty house waits. He hits the lamp. The screen ignites not with the scheduled noir but with grainy footage of a woman in the exact seat she occupies tonight. She laughs onscreen then clutches her throat as the film cuts to black. A real scream erupts from the auditorium. Max freezes the frame: the woman below is already dead her eyes wide open staring at herself. The projector keeps turning as if hungry for the next reel.
Why now
In an era of endless scrolling and fractured attention this film weaponizes the last collective space where strangers still sit in the dark together turning our addiction to watching into a terrifying mirror that asks what happens when the screen starts watching back.
